This course introduces students to the art and practice of experimental physics.

Students will
(i) practice describing their thoughts, actions, observations and measurements in writing as they experiment with physical phenomena,
(ii) design their own data taking approach,
(iii) objectively and quantitatively assess the quality of measurements they make,
(iv) reflect on the relationship between their data taking approach and the measurements they make, and
(v) extend the scope of an investigation by revising their approach, justifying their revisions and appraising their results
