This course is intended to merge Sociology of Law and Social Theory, and should attract undergraduates who are engaging with questions about American law, history, race, politics, and identity. Its readings straddle sociology, law, and history, and are especially
appropriate for students interested in social, political, or critical race theory and (eventually) law school or graduate school.
